Making Progress But Boring...

It's still boring and quiet around here... I've actually had things planned everyday this week which is dramatically interfering with my nap routine as we get ready for the hip replacement in a couple of weeks. Everything is good to go and there is no reason to believe that there will be another delay in the surgery.

Here is the week in pictures...

All of the aggravation of the cast, boot and crutches from the Posterior Tibial Tendonitis is over. I am so glad that I haven't had to have a cast like this the whole time, and over the last couple of weeks I have even been wearing my boot less and eventually I just gave up wearing it at the suggestion of my Physical Therapist. This has allowed me to stretch everything out. This morning I went to the Podiatrist where I was cleared and told to come back in six weeks after the hip replacement to talk about better shoe insoles. I still have some pain in the tendon but it won't get any better until my hip is better due to the way I walk. This has been a three month ordeal that is finally just about over.

Proof that I am getting better with the grabber. While its fun trying to grab the dog with it. I need to be able to grab the important things in life like the TV remote. This is in preparation for the first few weeks after the hip replacement when I won't be able to bend over and pick things up.

This week we did our grocery shopping at Harris Teeter and was crazy busy because they were having Super Double Coupon week. There must have been a dozen people shopping with binder's worth of coupons - they looked like they were straight out of the TV show about crazy coupon people. If they want to run the promotion I am fine with it but not on the weekends because the store is crazy!

I was worn out from the shopping experience so we did the local Wendy's  take out window which now has some type of Pretzel Burger. Naturally I tried it thinking it was going to be unique and awesome. Don't waste your time. It's a regular hamburger bun that looks like a pretzel. I'll stick to my usual Chicken Sandwich until they bring back their Carolina Classic burger with chili and slaw...

This weekend we also went to Home Depot so Abi could get supplies to decorate a piece of furniture. I'll share those pictures when its done. But apparently Home Depot doesn't trust its customers who use their scooters because they actually have a flashing light on top. All I care is that the cart works and thankfully this scooter did......unlike many other stores...

Church, Lunch and Shopping wore me out on Sunday. So while Abi worked on her furniture project I did the manly thing and watched NASCAR and my Atlanta Braves at the same time between naps. The Picture in Picture feature is very underrated in my book.

Monday morning I found my self in "Joint Replacement Camp" at the hospital in preparation for the hip replacement. I was 20 years younger than the next youngest person and the rest of class was at least 70 years old.  There is a reason why they say anyone younger than 60 is considered a "youngun" when it comes to Hip Replacements...

On Monday night, Maggie heard Abi pull up in the drive way and decided to sit and bark when she didn't come in quick enough. This made for a very unhappy Abi because she had a long ten hour workday and a dog ready to terrorize her.

It's been raining all week and naturally the dog refuses to get wet. She's very high maintenance in bad weather. If Abi and I don't go out in the rain with her, then Maggie's not going out in it.

And that was (my version) of our week in pictures...
