Quiet + Boring = Happiness

In honor of everything being quiet I skipped the obligatory weekly post last week. The past two weeks have been very quiet and boring. At this stage of life. This is a great thing. Since Abi and I have been together every Summer has meant a new life transition. Just look at the years. And this year is certainly no different...

2007- We went on our first date Father's Day weekend and becoming madly in love...
2008- Engaged and getting married on Labor Day. We were also living 400 miles apart in NC and MD...
2009- Newlyweds and I was a backup to deploy meaning I could have on no notice to deploy...
2010- We thought we were moving to England but it didn't happen...
2011- I was supposed to deploy to Kuwait only to have the orders cancelled 20 minutes prior to my flight time...
2012- We had just moved to Germany...
2013- I am having a hip replacement at age 30 and we are getting our life back after 3.5 years...

Right now my tendonitis is finally calming down. PT has kicked my butt however it is working. There is still some pain but its a lot less. I am still not able to do much around the house but what I am able to do helps to take pressure off of Abi. Unlike the accident where we had no time to get ready for anything. We have had plenty of time and I think we are ready. We both know that the recovery will be a pain but at the end of the day it will be worth it so that we can get our lives back after three and a half long years! Also we are blessed to have family a lot closer. Hopefully we don't have to rely on them too much but its still nice knowing they can be around if needed!!! While I won't speak for Abi I am kind of looking forward to the in laws from Baltimore thinking of coming down to help with things.

Here's the usual life in pictures...

Maggie in search of something. She is so afraid that she is going to miss something on the recliner. Abi has spoiled her by dropping too many snacks...

After the torment of PT and now that I am able to drive a little...what's better than breakfast at Waffle House? Abi doesn't know what she's missing with hash-browns covered and topped (with cheese and chili). The High Point store has far better service  than any of the five Fayetteville stores combined! I am being good by doing once every couple of months compared to at least twice a week in the past....

We spent Father's day at my parent's lake house on Blews Lake. We finally got to attempt to go for a ride on my parent's new boat. I was with them when they bought it in Feb 2012 but never got to go for a ride due to us being in Germany. As usual the food was great! We always eat way too much up there!

So much for the ride. We had a slight problem with the battery and couldn't get the boat started. But it didn't dampen the day. It was still a great time!

I decided to take advantage of the warm lake water and go for a swim. It's the first time in years that I have swam and my hip and ankle felt the best that they have felt in a loong time.

Coming home from the lake we paid the local Rita's a visit. Abi turned me on to the place in Baltimore and I am now convinced that this is the second best thing in the world. Even better than a fresh hot out of the grease Krispy Kreme doughnut....

In preparation of the Hip Replacement Maggie is being trained to wait on the couch so that we can put the leash on her. I won't be able to bend down to the ground like we have normally have done. As usual she's very smart and quick to learn. Maggie will learn to do just about anything for a Charlee Bear!

Everywhere we have lived Abi has a requirement that a Sonic and Target be close to the house. There was a half price milkshake night last week which meant that Abi made me pick up dinner.

As usual Sunday found us at church. We are experimenting at another church. Since we have been married we have yet to find a church that we are truly at home with. Who knows if this is the one...

Abi calls me at around 7pm to let me know that she's coming home. Maggie who's been sleeping for the past 20 straight hours perks up and starts attacking me. Demanding that I start playing with her. There's a reason why Abi calls her a Pest! If Abi stays in the car to talk on the phone after coming home Maggie goes even more biz-irk. Maggie lives for Abi coming home from work...

With all of the other preparations for the Hip Replacement that we are doing. The Focus got a clean bill of health with its yearly 7k mile oil change. The boys at Havoline Xpress Service were impressed with how great of shape the car was in. As usual I would expect nothing less because Ford build's a great car! Oh yeah did I mention that she pulls 37mpg?

Here's to another couple of quiet of weeks...
