....I found something I love. It's a new photography thing. But something that a lot of you might like - even if you don't have a big camera or take tons of photos like me. It is called an eye-fi card - which is just an sd memory card with wi-fi capabilities. May not sound like much, but all you have to do is a few simple set-up steps on your computer, have a wi-fi connection, and then put the sd card in your camera. Then the next time you come home after taking photos somewhere - your photos will magically be on your computer as soon you walk through the door. You don't have to think about it or remember to find your card reader or anything. And you can set it up to automatically send your photos to facebook or flickr too. So what I'm doing is saving everything to my computer and sending it to a private flickr page as my backup system. I will still use larger/regular cards for any client shoots probably, but for my personal use - this card is amazing! Love, love, love it!
And I just gave one as a baby shower gift for my sister-in-law (I couldn't make it to her shower this past weekend in MA, but sent it to my mom and she took it up there for me). One of the bloggers whose blog I read is a new mom and she mentioned how much she liked having this to take lots of baby photos and then have them right there on her laptop and ready to post or send them to family whenever she had a free minute. It seemed like it would be a great gift for my tech-y brother and sister-in-law and I'm hoping it helps me to get to see lots of photos of my nephew since we live far away and unfortunately won't get to see him as much as we'd like. Anyways - hope my sister-in-law and brother like the eye-fi card as much as I do!
