My word for 2011.
As I mentioned a few days ago, this year I am choosing one word to focus on – instead of New Year’s resolutions. I thought about what word to choose for a few weeks. I had a couple of ideas, but none of them really seemed right. I was very close to picking the word “create” since I want to focus on art, photography, and a few other creations this year….but that seemed a little too cliche’ or something. But when I was looking at the synonyms for create, I saw the word “develop“. And while I didn’t like how the word itself sounded – it just doesn’t sound as artsy to me – I loved the definitions.
I want to cultivate my artistic and photography skills. I want our family to prosper, begin new things – things that we will need to wait to see how they unfold and how they will be made known to us. I want to begin a small business and develop new skills the new skills needed to make that happen. I want to develop healthy habits and stronger spiritual disciplines.
I have a lot of things I’m hoping to develop in my life this year.
And I’m looking forward to seeing what this year brings.
