celebrating in Raleigh....

Thanks for the birthday comments!  I had a really good birthday….so much better than last year!  We ended up celebrating on Saturday and went up and spent the day in Raleigh, NC.  My husband was a great sport and let me pick out what I wanted to do – and he willingly went along with it all.  I decided that I really wanted to go to the North Carolina Art Museum.  I had heard good things about it and love art galleries/shows anyway.

We just went to see the general exhibition – Norman Rockwell is the special exhibition right now, and although I’m sure it’s a good show, I have seen Rockwell many times (including The Norman Rockwell Museum and MOMA in NYC) and wanted to explore the rest of the museum instead.  There were a lot of great sculptures – quite a bit of Auguste Rodin – who is one of my favorite sculptors.

Andy grabbed a wheelchair since there was a decent amount of walking and his back/hip were bugging him a little.

Outside there was a 164-acre Museum Park

We obviously didn’t walk the whole thing…..Andy couldn’t do much of it at all.  But I enjoyed some of it and hopefully will go back someday and check out more of it.
After the art museum, we went to Target, Trader Joe’s, and ate at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. Good day.

Andy even liked it.
