I woke up this morning still feeling miserable. My ears are still bugging me and the ringing is deafening. My husband told me I sounded horrible – really hoarse. And I didn’t sleep well at all because I think it’s going to my lungs and I started having some asthma issues. Lovely. I still managed to drag myself to work since I don’t have much sick time left (thanks to my husbands medical needs earlier in the year and our messed up scheduling when we thought we would be moving in July that didn’t happen).
I managed through the morning and came home for a quick lunch. After I ate, I ran our dog, Maggie, to get groomed for the first time (first time with us anyways). I dropped her off and decided to treat myself to Starbucks in hopes that some caffeine would give me a little energy to get through the afternoon. My favorite drinks are a mocha or a caramel macchiato, but I thought I would be adventurous and try the Pumpkin Spice Latte for the first time. I’ve heard people rave about it and look forward to fall every year just to be able to get this drink. I like a lot of pumpkin things and was expecting a sweet, slightly pumpkin pie-ish coffee drink. It was not at all what I expected. It seemed way too pumpkin-y and lots of spices that didn’t go well at all with coffee in my opinion. I tried to like it….but I couldn’t even get down half of it. So sad. Very disappointing afternoon.
Here’s Maggie after being groomed. Andy was really surprised by how different she looks, but we both think the groomer did a good job. We like that she is a pretty low maintenance dog and we won’t have to groom her too often – just comb her out at home regularly.
