This weekend, I talked Andy into going to the North Carolina State Fair. I love fairs - they are so much fun - and NC promised "a whole lotta happy" so I was definitely excited. We got there a little earlier on Saturday than most people, so we got a good parking spot and were in before it got too crowded. It was a lot bigger than the Maryland State fair - I got lost a few times. Luckily Andy remembered being there a few years before and navigated us around pretty well. We had fun checking out the different buildings, sampling the fried food, and taking a quick walk through the animal buildings (Andy wasn't crazy about them, but I told him that it wasn't a true fair experience if we didn't at least see some 4-Hers and their livestock). Then it got reallly crowded and crazy, so we headed out. It was probably a good thing we did, because Andy saw on the news later that night that there was a stabbing at the fair in an area we'd been to while there.
