On Saturday, our trip was almost over. But Andy still had one thing he really wanted to do while on vacation.....ride the train. So we hitched a ride (with my dad and little brother) to Boston. They dropped us off right in the middle of town at Boston Commons Park. We did a little sightseeing in Boston while making our way over to the train station across town (Boston has a great metro system).
We made it to the train station and had lunch. I had finished all of my books, so I was really happy to see a mini-bookstore at the train station. I got one of the longest (I read fast), interesting looking book I could find for the 7 hour train ride. We got some snacks for the ride and got on. Andy was really excited.
We had a good trip. It was neat to see the sights from the train and it took us through some beautiful parts of the country. We even had a little bit of drama when someone got thrown off the train just outside of New York City. I was just finishing my book as we pulled into Baltimore. Our good friends, Becki and Josh, picked us up downtown and took us back to my parents since my mom was working and we weren't sure if Dad would be home yet.
We left to come back to NC on Sunday morning. We took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge route again since we weren't in a hurry (and Andy was driving). We made it back around 11pm to a mess of an apartment....which is now almost all cleaned up.....it's just taken forever.
And that was our vacation! We had a great time and had fun visiting with so many people. And now we've been back to working hard....
